The Carefree Water Company is seeking a skilled and motivated Water Distribution Operator II to help maintain and protect our community’s water distribution system. This is a hands-on position for someone who enjoys working outdoors, solving problems, and making a real impact on public health and safety.
What You’ll Do
- Install, maintain, and repair water mains, service lines, valves, hydrants, and meters
- Respond to water main breaks, leaks, and emergency repairs
- Operate tools, trucks, and utility equipment safely and efficiently
- Perform system flushing, pressure testing, and water quality sampling
- Assist with inspections, construction, and preventive maintenance projects
- Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours emergency response
- Maintain accurate records and follow safety procedures
What We’re Looking For
Minimum Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- [2–4] years of experience in water distribution, utility maintenance or Construction
- Valid Arizona driver’s license
- ADEQ Water Distribution Grade II Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
Ideal Candidate
- Knowledge of water distribution systems and repair methods
- Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
- Physically able to perform manual labor and lift up to [50–75 lbs]
